AIA Australia, a leading life, health, and wellbeing insurer, conducted research to better understand health behaviours across Australia. The goal was to identify areas of strength and where additional support is needed, as well as highlight the impact of prevention-focused behaviours on longevity and quality of life.
The research identified 45 “AIA Vitality Zones,” local government areas excelling in health and wellbeing. In these zones, residents live up to 8 years longer and save the public health system $371.4 million annually in preventable hospitalisations. They are also 34% less likely to claim on life insurance, 10% more likely to join AIA Vitality, and live more fulfilling lives.
These findings aim to inspire Australians to make small changes for healthier, longer lives.
